The Institute for Vision Rehabilitation
Vision loss has multidimensional implications on a person’s quality of life and can have immediate and long-term consequences in children and adults. It can hamper their physical, psychological, educational and financial well-being. People with visual impairment often remain socially isolated and confined to the four walls of their home.
When conventional treatments – medical or surgical – fail to prevent or restore vision loss, vision rehabilitation and sight enhancement services work at empowering people with low vision and blindness.
We are across the LVPEI network
- Vision Rehabilitation at Hyderabad, Bhubaneshwar, Visakhapatnam, Vijayawada, and community based rehabilitation at all our secondary centres (except Ponuru and Pulivendula)
- Skills development training centre at Tholkatta, near Hyderabad
- Low vision services in all above, plus secondary centres (minus these: Telangana – Kothur, Paloncha, Sircilla, Siddipet Andhra Pradesh – Akiveedu, Nellore, Kandukur, Ponuru, and Pulivendula)
- CVI services in Hyderabad, Visakhapatnam, and Bhubaneshwar
