Surgery

Eye surgeries are mostly day care procedures, which do not require an overnight hospital stay. But in some cases, you may require to stay in the hospital for a few days.

In such cases LVPEI offers a comfortable, safe and hygienic stay facilities for both, the patients as well as the attendants. Professional and well-trained nursing assistants are capable of handling any emergency situation and are available round the clock.



About 50% of our services are offered free of cost to the economically underprivileged. We have three categories of paying services: General, Supporters and Sight Savers. By becoming a Supporter or Sight Saver, you will contribute to the services provided free-of-cost to our non-paying patients.

The LVPEI Team is privileged to support our defence personnel in service of the nation. For the past two decades, all defence personnel, right from Jawans to Senior Officers, and their dependents, are being provided all services (including surgical intervention) at no cost to them. This is applicable to patients referred by Military Hospitals to LVPEI in Hyderabad.

Our admissions commence at 02:30 pm and close at 04:00 pm. The discharge formalities are usually over by 12:00 noon. Please make arrangements to vacate your room by 12:00 noon, so that we can make it available in good time to the next patient.

A consent form will have to be signed by you at the time of registration. The parent or guardian must sign in the case of minors, and as a witness for an adult patient.

Please bring all your medication and relevant medical reports at the time of admission. Our teams will guide you to fulfil your medical advice.

Food from outside the hospital is not allowed on our premises. We run fully vegetarian campuses. Non-vegetarian food should not be consumed on the hospital premises.

Food is served in the cafeteria, which is located in the in-patient ward, and charged separately.The timings are:

  • Breakfast: 8:30am to 11:00am
  • Lunch: 12:30pm to 03:00pm
  • Dinner: 7:30pm to 8:30pm

If you choose a deluxe room or elite room, only one attendant is allowed to stay with you, if the patient is below 15 years of age both the parents can stay.

If you choose a Standard or Economy room (shared accommodation), no attendant is allowed to stay with you. For children below 15 years of age, a parent or guardian may stay with the patient.

We collect 10% of the estimated charges at the time of registration and the remaining 90% at the time of admission.

You will be given an advance receipt which has to be retained carefully and returned at the time of discharge when you will receive a final receipt.

If you fail to keep a surgical appointment without prior information (at least 48 hours) before surgery, Rs.500 will be deducted from the advance that you have deposited.

You may pay in Cash or with Credit/ Debit Card, or Demand Draft drawn in favour of HYDERABAD EYE INSTITUTE.

We do not accept cheques.

WiFi Internet is available for patients and their attendants staying in the ward.

  • We allow 2 visitors between 4:00pm to 5:00pm and 2 visitors between 5:00pm to 6:00pm
  • Food and beverages are not served to visitors.
  • No visitor will be allowed before the patient’s surgery.
  • Visiting passes are available with the security at basement level.
  • During the surgery, not more than 2 visitors may remain in the waiting lounge. After the surgery, they will be given a special pass to visit the patient for 10 minutes.
  • Children below 15 years are not allowed to visit the patients.
  • In the Exclusive package, visiting hour rules are applicable, and two visitors at a time only will be allowed to visit the patient.
  • In patients including Exclusive package patients, visitors’/attendant’s movement are restricted from 8:00 pm to 7:00 am.

There is an emergency switch in all rooms which can be used to call the nursing station.
