Spread across multiple centres, the Shantilal Shangvi Cornea Institute operates one of the largest cornea services in the world. We have 28 faculty spread across our centres offering high-quality eye care.
One of the key strengths of the Cornea Institute is our strong basic and clinical research legacy. Our research interests cover microbiology, pathology, genetics, stem cells, and gene-editing therapies, and transplantation techniques.
We are also one of the largest training centres for corneal specialists in the world. We offer international fellowships, including to low- and middle-income countries, taking our expertise to the many who cannot visit us. In addition, we have deep investments in appropriate technologies and the new-generation AI and machine learning tools that help us build predictive models for patient outcomes.
