L V Prasad Eye Institute proudly inaugurated its second Cortical/Cerebral Visual Impairment Resource Centre in Visakhapatnam. The first centre was established at LVPEI’s Kallam Anji Reddy Campus, Hyderabad. Established in collaboration with Vision-Aid, USA, and generously supported by the Palakurthi Foundation in memory of the late Dr Krupasagar Palakurthi, a dedicated ophthalmologist, the centre is named ‘Vasantha-Krupa Palakurthi Vision-Aid Resource Centre for Cortical/Cerebral Visual Impairment.’ On this momentous occasion, we were deeply honoured to have Mr Ramakrishna Raju, Executive Director, and Ms Revathy Ramakrishna, Vice President of Vision-Aid, USA’s distinguished leadership team members.

This dedicated centre provides essential services such as clinical examinations, personalized vision assessments, and specialized interventions like vision therapy, visual skills training, speech therapy, and counselling for children with cerebral visual impairment and their families. Additionally, it offers home environment modifications, group activities, parental support groups, and training in independent living skills, all contributing to the enrichment of the lives of these remarkable children.
