Dr Meghana Kandi secures Second Prize in MegaQuiz at AIOC 2026

Dr Meghana Kandi, first-year Glaucoma fellow at LVPEI, secured the Second Place in the AIOS Mega Quiz at the 84th Annual Conference of the All India Ophthalmological Society (AIOC) 2026. For securing second place, she also won a cash prize of ₹35k.

On securing the second position, Dr Kandi said, ‘Securing second place at the AIOS Mega Quiz is more than just a personal milestone; it’s the adrenaline rush, testing not only the depth of our ophthalmic and general knowledge but also our cognitive agility under pressure. In a format where the ‘fastest finger’ and absolute accuracy dictate the outcome, this result is a rewarding validation of the discipline required to perform at the highest national level. It was a privilege to compete alongside the country’s finest, where every second and every correct response truly mattered.’ Further speaking on the impact that this win has on the visibility of LVPEI at a national stage, she said, ‘This achievement is a direct reflection of the unique academic culture at LVPEI. Our tradition of daily morning classes and a shared ethos of relentless curiosity provides the ideal substrate for this kind of success.
